The 8th edition of the ever- growing
SOFEX series will be held at the King Abdullah I Airbase
(Site Map) in Amman in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This niche event is
held biennially under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King
Abdullah II, the Chairmanship of HRH Prince Feisal Bin Al Hussein
and with the full support of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF).
SOFEX 2010 is a four-day event that kicks off with a prominent one
day conference that includes a series of comprehensive and topical
seminars delivered by top military officials from around the world,
tackling a wide range of issues pertinent to current counter
terrorism and homeland security issues. The SOFEX 2008 Conference
”Adjusting Special Operations Forces’ Capabilities to Combat Global
Terrorism” attracted over 750 participants consisting of high
ranking military and government delegations representing 58
countries. The prestigious list of speakers included Jordan's Prime
Minister/Minister of Defence on behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah
II and His Royal Highness Prince Andrew of Great Britain, as well as
presentations by 8 Special Operations Commanders from countries
leading the way in Global Security.
SOFEX 2010 Exhibition is expected to surpass the record number of
12,000 participants, 319 Exhibiting Companies, 34 International
Pavilions, 380 International Delegates and101 International
Delegations headed by Ministers of Defence, Chiefs of Staff and
Special Operations Commanders that attended SOFEX 2008 and the
impressive $100 Million worth of deals signed at the event. Building
on that outstanding success, SOFEX 2010 has already attracted a
substantial amount of interest with many major national pavilions
that have expressed their intent to expand their participation. The
70,000 m² of indoor and outdoor exhibition space will house
